My name is Jiawei Qu (Jah-way Chew)

Rooted in my love for music education and performance, I am dedicated to inspiring the next generation of musicians of all ages to reach their full potential and find joy in every note.

Jiawei is a collaborative pianist currently completing his Doctor of Musical Arts in Collaborative Piano at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, studying under Dr. James Douglass. He holds a Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy from UNCG under Dr. Annie Jeng, an Artistic Diploma from the Carinthian State Conservatory in Klagenfurt, Austria under Prof. Alexei Kornienko, and a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from UNCG under Dr. John Salmon.

Jiawei currently serves as Church Pianist at Lake Ann United Methodist Church in Michigan. His collaborative experience spans choral, vocal, and liturgical settings, including work as a freelance piano accompanist for voice studios at UNCG, choir accompanist for the Greensboro Youth Chorus, and accompanying pianist at Holy Spirit Episcopal Church. He has also taught piano extensively, most recently through Moore Music Company and UNCG’s Community Lessons Program.

Fluent in English, Chinese, and German, Jiawei brings a versatile, cross-cultural perspective to his performance and teaching practice, along with strong technical and organizational skills honed across academic, church, and community music settings.
